Hunh? I use "vi" (only) to edit Scheme all day. Just "set lisp showmatch".

MzScheme supports pre-emptive threads of Scheme evaluation.
These threads do not use operating system threads and do not
require any additional support from another C/C++ program
using MzScheme as an extension language interpreter.
