the problem report to allegro-cl.  However, I suggest that you send an 
explanation of the solution to the mailing-list when your problem 
has been solved rather than include the mailing-list in further
discussion of your particular situation.  

The error message you report:
	
	Error: Attempt to do an I/O operation on the closed stream

during the compilation of a CLIM generate-panes method suggests that
you were trying to do output to a closed stream, probably but not
necessarily a CLIM pane.

I suggest that you examine your code for an attempt to do such i/o.
If you can't find one, please create and send us a small standalone 
example which we can run here to duplicate and identify the problem.
