 You may also want to take a look at the grid widget in the (free)
Common Lisp Business Toolkit
  ( http://www.infinet.com/~btobin/lispteam.html ).

It doesn't have any docs either, but for many types of applications it
is significantly easier to use.  There is also an ODBC-aware version.
