Wisdom Technologies (Pittsburgh, PA), a dynamic new spin-off of
Carnegie Mellon University, is looking for talented, energetic
professionals to join its software development team. Wisdom is
commercializing a suite of Common Lisp-based financial expert systems
that employ Artificial Intelligence and Human-Computer Interaction
technology to optimize treasuries' cash flows, financing, and investment
activities.  These systems embody substantial development effort and are
already deployed at the regional electric utility in Madrid, Spain
(Union Fenosa) and Telefonica, Spain's telephone company and largest
corporation.  At Union Fenosa they are producing savings of $1.8M
annually.  As part of a strategic alliance with financial institutions to
fully deploy these systems in North America and beyond, we are looking
to fill the following two positions:

USER INTERFACE ENGINEER

This position will be responsible for ongoing improvement and design of the
system's user-interface, including porting the interface from X-11 to
the Microsoft Windows platform, while enhancing the design for usability.

Skill Requirements:
	- B.S. or equivalent in Computer Science
	- Working knowledge of Common Lisp
	- Knowledge of Software Engineering Principles
	- G.U.I. design and development experience
	- Development experience on the Microsoft Windows platform
	- Experience working on software teams.

Desired Skills;
	- Design and analysis of HCI and Usability Studies
	- Knowledge of the Franz Common Graphics package
	- Technical Writing Expertise
	- Knowledge of the Spanish language
	- Expertise in corporate finance and accounting.

Start Date:  August or September

SOFTWARE ENGINEER 

This position will be responsible for extending the frame-based database
and simulator modules of the systems to accommodate the additional
functionalities required to make them work in North America.


Skill Requirements:
	- B.S. or equivalent in Computer Science

	- Knowledge of Software Engineering Principles
	- Database design and development skills
	- Experience working on software teams.

Desired Skills;
	- Technical Writing Expertise
	- Knowledge of the Spanish language
	- Expertise in corporate finance and accounting.
