Careful.. we're comparing different lisps running on different operating
systems so you can't draw that conclusion at all.
Lisp code running on Linux and NT will run at similar speeds as long
as you aren't doing operating specific things and in that case
the battle is won by the better OS (for that specific thing).
The acl 4.3 numbers give you an idea of how well the lisp compiler did
on the intel x86 architecture back when acl 4.3 was released. You can
expect that there have been some performance improvements
in the compiler and runtime system since then. Whether they will
affect this benchmark is hard to say, but we hope so.
