The time profiler keeps displaying that (function?) "_hmul" accounts for
30% of my runtime.  In other instances I have been be able to get rid
of this by proper declarations.  Not this time however.  The manual,
apropos, documentation, etc. produced nothing either.  Can anyone tell 
me what "_hmul" is?  Thanks,

PS: There are no obvious multiplications at that level in the code.
