There are 2 problems that are most likely related:
(let ((output-pathname
(make-pathname :directory "d:/test-dir/" :name
"x")))
(open output-pathname :direction output))
1. The code above returns "c:\Program
Files\acl501\d:\test-dir\x resulted in error. No such
file or directory."
2. I have to put my source code in c:\Program
Files\acl501, or else ACL can't find it.
I am under pressure right now. I don't have time to
read a bunch of books to determine how to use this
functionality.
I just want to turn it off. I'll tell it myself where
I want stuff to go. I don't want it to assume
anything.
Right now ACL is totally unusable for my purposes.
Thank you in advance for your help,
Eric
