  no.

  why do you quote _thread_ just because Allegro doesn't use one particular
  implementation of a well-known technology with lots of very different
  implementations?  OS-level "threads" are mainly useful to C programmers,
  who can get nothing else.  they aren't all that useful to programmers in
  higher-level languages, who can get the exact same services by other
  means.  oh, apart from the hype-factor, of course.
