Well, MzScheme works fine for me on Irix 5.3 and 6.4 (using 5.3 binaries).
To be on the safe side, you might want to compile "-o32", since I'm not
sure they've tried "-n32" or "-64" yet. Irix 5.3 binaries (which will run
just fine on 6.x systems) and/or source and docs can be grabbed from:
http://www.cs.rice.edu/CS/PLT/packages/mzscheme/
Also look up one level ("packages/") for other useful goodies (e.g., "MrEd",
with some nice GUI-building libraries, or "DrScheme" for a more extensive
Scheme programming environment).
Other Schemes that seem to work well on Irix 5.3 (and thus should be
fine on 6.3 if compiled "-o32") include: SCM & Guile, Gambit-C, Elk,
Scheme->C & EZD, Scsh & Scheme48, SIOD, libscheme, and probably others.
